DayO Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 21, 2026 (previous version effective September 23, 2026)
This English translation is provided for convenience. If there is any discrepancy, the Korean version will prevail.
DayO (돼요) (hereinafter the “Company”) complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws to protect users’ freedom and rights. The Company establishes and publishes this Privacy Policy to protect users’ personal information and to handle related complaints promptly and smoothly.
Article 1 (Purposes of Processing Personal Information)
The Company processes personal information for the following purposes. Personal information being processed will not be used for purposes other than those listed below. If a purpose of use changes, the Company will take necessary measures, such as obtaining separate consent, in accordance with applicable law.
- Membership registration and management: Identification and authentication for membership services, maintenance and management of membership status, prevention of improper use, and delivery of notices and notifications.
- Service provision and performance of contracts: Matching video conversation sessions, scheduling and reservation notices, delivery of digital content, and provision of personalized services.
- Payment and settlement: Paid service payments, refund processing, settlement of activity fees (earnings) for partners, and tax reporting.
- Customer support and complaint handling: Responding to user inquiries, handling service complaints, and retaining records for dispute mediation.
Article 2 (Personal Information Collected and Methods of Collection)
The Company collects the minimum personal information necessary to provide the service.
- Standard membership registration (required): Email address, password, nickname, and profile information (preferred language and interests)
- Social login (Google, Kakao, etc.): Unique social-account identifier (UID), email address, and profile nickname

Free guidebook email requests
Your email address is required for guidebook delivery and repeat requests. Without this consent, email delivery is unavailable; you can still visit the guidebook page directly.
DayO news and marketing consent is separate and optional. Only opted-in recipients receive email about services, events, offers, conversation tips, guidebooks and learning materials. We record consent, its timestamp, request source and request timestamp. Declining marketing does not prevent delivery of the requested guidebook.
Without marketing consent, email is retained for guidebook delivery and related enquiries for 30 days from delivery, then becomes eligible for deletion and is excluded from marketing. With marketing consent, email and consent records are retained until withdrawal or the end of the marketing purpose. Consent timestamps support biennial consent reminders. Contact hello@dayotalk.com to withdraw marketing consent or request deletion. Withdrawal records its timestamp and sets marketing consent to false, immediately excluding the recipient from marketing. Email becomes eligible for deletion when no retention purpose remains.
Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
In principle, the Company does not provide users’ personal information to external parties. Exceptions apply in the following cases.
- When the user has directly consented in advance to provision to a third party
